Embody Change Structural Integration

Kirstin has been practicing bodywork since 1998. She graduated from the Evergreen State College in 1991 with a BA in Environmental Studies, and later attended the Oregon School of Massage, specializing in Shiatsu. She completed the KMI certification program in Structural Integration in 2005, studying with Tom Myers, director of Kinesis Myofascial Integration and author of Anatomy Trains. Through subsequent studies with Advanced Rolfers Christoph Sommer and Don Hazen, she has developed specific palpation skills and strategies for working with the peripheral nerves.

Kirstin’s passion for working with clients is kindled by her love of experiential anatomy—she likes to explain what she is doing and sensing as she works, helping clients listen to, understand, appreciate, and gain new awareness of their bodies. She also enjoys "talking shop" with bodyworkers, movement teachers, and health practitioners of all stripes.

Her own kinesthetic understanding of the body has developed through participation in martial arts, a variety of sports, and diverse physical work experiences. Her current exercise interests are yoga, contact improvisation, and ecstatic dance, and she appreciates watching all forms of dance and movement. She explores her creativity through many outlets, and she likes to support others in their creative efforts.
